| Err 0 | Faulty Tape Load or Eject | Try loading again. If N/G, reinitialize. |
| Err 1 | Tape did not pull properly from cassette | Try another tape (tape may be defective). |
| Err 2 | Tape didn't thread to "disengaged" mode | Try again, otherwise loading system problem. |
| Err 3 | Tape didn't thread to "engaged" mode | Reinitialize, otherwise possible load system problem. |
| Err 4 | Rotary Head not spinning | Reinitialize, otherwise possible drum motor problem. |
| Err 5 | Drum Speed to Fast/Slow | Make sure "Digital In" is not pressed whennot used. |
| Err 6 | Did not load data from head of tape | Make sure BRC was turned on AFTER ADAT's. |
| Err 7 | Bad write sector(s) | Clean heads. If N/G, may be worn heads and/or bad orworn tape. |
| Err 8 | Sync lost, tape will stop | Possible bad sync cable. Use only ALESIS cables. |
| Err 9 | Capstan spinning, tape won't move | Broken tape? Try another. Possible bad idler wheel and/orpinch roller. |
| ADI flashing | "Flashing dot". Dirty heads | Clean heads properly (recommend dBm2705 Cleaning Kit).ALSO see Er 7. |
| DU | Unit has condensation on or near heads | DO NOT LOAD A TAPE! Leave unit on a few hours to letdry. |
| Full | Serial Buffer is full | Reinitialize. Possible bad idler wheel or sync cable. |
| Prot | Cassette's write tab has been removed | Check cassette. If tab has NOT been removed, poss. badwrite protect switch. |
| NOFO | Unit cannot verify formatted tape | Possible worn heads, poor alignment/calibration, worn/badtapes, cleaning. |
